Terms, privacy & community guidelines
Version 2026-08-01. These are the policies you accept when you create an account or publish content.
These documents are the operative summaries used in-product while our full legal copy is under review by counsel. If anything here conflicts with a signed agreement you have with Standing O, the signed agreement controls.
Terms of Service
Standing O gives independent musicians tools to sell memberships, merchandise, livestream access, and digital gifts directly to fans. You need an account to publish or purchase, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Artists keep ownership of everything they upload and grant Standing O the limited licence needed to host it and show it to the fans they choose. Payments are processed by Stripe; Standing O deducts the platform fee shown on your plan before payout.
We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach these terms or the Community Guidelines below. 2 content removals within 12 months results in suspension of the artist account.
Privacy Policy
We store the account details you give us (email, display name, profile), the content you publish, your interactions with artists, and payment metadata returned by Stripe. We never store full card numbers.
We record when you accept these policies — the document version, the time, and the IP address the acceptance came from — because we're required to evidence consent.
You can request deletion of your account from settings. Deletion runs after a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel. Transaction and payout records are retained after deletion, unlinked from your profile, because tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
Community Guidelines
You can post music and video you wrote and recorded yourself, or that you have a specific licence to use this way, along with the artwork, writing, and updates that go with it.
You can't post other artists' commercial releases, unlicensed covers or samples, anything you don't hold the rights to, content that harasses or endangers someone, or content that misrepresents who you are.
Anyone can report content. When our moderation team removes an item, the artist is notified by email and in-app with the reason and the policy involved. A first removal is a warning; a second within 12 months suspends the account. Removed content is hidden from fans but retained as a record of the decision.
To appeal, reply to the notification email with details of the rights you hold in the recording.
